MicroTSA
Microsec timestamp server application is an Apache web server module, which is able to receive timestamp requests and issue RFC 3161 timestamps through HTTP/HTTPS protocol by using username/password, PKI certificate-based authentication, or URL-based authentication.
Main characteristics
- Scalable performance
- Complies with the RCC 3161 „Internet X.509 Public Key Infrastructure Time-Stamp Protocol (TSP)” specification
- Supports the following hashing algorithms: SHA-1 (not recommended), SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512
- Uses the same type of hash function in the timestamp as was in the timestamp request assuming that that type of hash is allowed in the configuration
- Applies the following RSA key sizes: 1024 (not recommended), 2048, 3072 or 4096 bits, ECC NIST P-256
- The server can be configured by a configuration file. The configuration file is loaded during Apache web server start-up
- It supports the usage of ECC capable HSMs modules
- it provides operator card support at system launch when keys are stored in HSM (K of N)
- Certificate DN / organisation identifier support
- QC statements support
- Performance with suitable HSM module for RSA 2048 bits keys is: 80/100 timestamps/sec
- Option for high-performance (up to 120 timestamps/sec) and ultra-high-performance depends on available HSM capacity (scalability)
- By proper configuration of the Apache web server you can set up a certificate based or username-password based user authentication or URL-based authentication to reach the timestamp server
